Before the day
I’ve booked an open day but haven’t had any emails. When will I receive my email about the open days?
When booking you should have received a confirmation email and follow-up emails about the event. If you haven’t received our emails, then they may be in your junk folder. Please search for emails from no-reply@nottingham.ac.uk.
Please add no-reply@nottingham.ac.uk to your list of trusted senders in your email account, to ensure all emails related to the open day are received.
If you cannot find your emails, please contact us and we will be able to send you this information
Yes, you can bring as many guests as you wish, we don’t need to know guest names or numbers in advance. Just to be aware that some talks and activities will be limited to one guest per prospective student due to room capacities, but we have an award-winning campus and plenty of cafes for your guest(s) to pass the time in.

Can I speak to the open days team about planning my day?
We’re here to help, please contact us if you have any questions.
When are the talks and tours taking place?
There’s so much to explore when you visit our open day, from subject talks to campus tours to accommodation drop ins.
You can find details of what’s going on in our UoN Open Days app – it’s the only place to find a full schedule of activities taking place on the open day, so make sure you download it before you visit.
Check out more information about the app on our plan your day page.
What time do I need to get there?
The open day officially starts at 9.30am but you don’t need to arrive at a set time, just pop in whenever suits you. Many of our talks are repeated and our drop-ins are open throughout the day.
The only exception to this is if you’re attending one of our Veterinary Medicine open days – you'll need to make sure you arrive at the Vet School before the time stated on your booking confirmation email so you don't miss anything.
To make the most of the day, we recommend downloading the UoN Open Days app in advance so you can see what is happening when. You can use the Plan feature to create a personalised plan for the day, which can help you work out when you need to arrive.
If you’re travelling by car, it can be busy getting on to campus and parking up, so factor this into your plan to make sure you’re not rushing to your first activity.
Do I need to book a place for the talks or activities?
For most talks, seats are allocated on a first-come, first-served basis. A small number of subject activities, such as Medicine and Law talks, require you to have a ticket - you can collect these on the day from the location specified in the UoN Open Days app.
Tours are also not pre-bookable, so you can just go to the relevant tour departure point on the day.
The only exception to this is if you’re interested in studying Veterinary Medicine – you need to book on to a specific Veterinary Medicine subject session at the point of booking your open day.
For some activities, you may only be able to bring one guest with you. Your other guests are welcome to explore the campus, chat to our staff and students or grab a coffee while they wait.
